Jennifer Ellis

Jennifer EllisJennifer Ellis brings a unique perspective to Lowenthal & Abrams. With her background in legal education and social media, Jennifer assists the other attorneys at Lowenthal & Abrams with issues surrounding social media and the firm’s cases. Jennifer also represents those who are in need of a legal malpractice lawyer. This includes both clients who have been harmed due to legal malpractice and lawyers who are in need of representation.

A frequent author and speaker, both in Pennsylvania and nationally, Jennifer is recognized for her knowledge on legal ethics. She speaks and writes on issues including social media, legal ethics, and technology for law firms. Jennifer wrote the book, WordPress in One Hour for Lawyers and the chapter on social media for both the 2013 & 2014 American Bar Association Solo and Small Firm Legal Technology Guide.

Jennifer also serves as a law practice management consultant, helping attorneys to improve the efficiency of their practices. She brings this knowledge to L&A, working closely with the IT manager to advance the firm’s use of technology. Prior to becoming a consultant, Jennifer spent 12.5 years with the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the non-profit continuing legal education arm of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. In addition, Jennifer engaged in pro bono work, focusing on helping bullied children as an adviser to the Harrisburg youth organization, Common Roads.

Very involved in the legal community, Jennifer is Vice Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Solo and Small Firm Practice Section an Secretary of the GLBT Rights Committee. In addition, Jennifer is a member of the American Bar Association’s Law Practice Division, where she is Vice Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee and a member of the Publications Committee.

Jennifer obtained her law degree cum laude from Widener University School of Law in Delaware, and her undergraduate degree from Dickinson College.  While at Widener, Jennifer served on Law Review and as a board member of the Moot Court Honors Society. She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. In addition to a fondness for technology, Jennifer spends her time at the dog park with her dog, Curtis, as well as kayaking, hiking, and reading.
