Make Certain You Know Your Car Recalls
I have car recalls on the mind. This is for two reasons. Recently a friend of mine told me that she was in a car accident due to a problem with her car. It turned out there was a car recall to address the defect, but she was unaware of it. Thankfully, she wasn’t seriously injured.
Then, the other night I heard that Mazda is recalling almost one hundred thousand cars because the doors can come open while in motion. I don’t know about you, but when I was a child, I never listened when my father told me not to lean against the car door because it could open. As an adult, of course, I feel differently. Imagine, you are driving along, the door opens and another car smashes into it. Or unknown to you, your child doesn’t have his seat belt on, and falls out. What a nightmare.
Nissan also has a car recall on two of its Infiniti models. Apparently they can stall while you are driving. Imagine that on the Pennsylvania Turnpike or Schuylkill Expressway.
These are two very dangerous car recalls. These auto defects can cause very serious car accidents.
Stay Up On Your Car Recalls
When you have a car recall, the manufacturer will try to notify you. However, if you purchased a used car, you may be unaware of the recalls and they may not have been repaired prior to your purchase. I have written in the past on how you can check to see if recalls were fixed already on a used car. It is important, if you move that you make certain the auto manufacturer can reach you. That way if there are any car recalls, you will be certain to know.
Many car companies offer a car recall notification update that you can fill out online. For example, Nissan offers this car recall form.
