No you cannot collect workers’ compensation benefits and unemployment compensation benefits at the same time. You can use unemployment compensation benefits as a safety net if you are not getting your workers’ compensation benefits, until you get them, so at least you will have some income coming into the household. What happens is, the workers’ compensation insurance company gets a credit and gets to deduct all of the unemployment benefits that you got from the workers’ compensation benefits. Even if they fought the unemployment and even if they fought the workers’ compensation benefits, they still get that credit.
