Report your work injury to your employer immediately, as soon as it happens, you should not wait. There are people that wait for various reasons like they are afraid of confronting their employer or they think that they are going to get better or they think if they just go home and rest they will be fine. I think that’s a big mistake. I think that you should report your injury to your employer immediately and ask your employer to fill out a written accident report which you should get a copy of. Then if it turns out that your injury is not a big problem you can always just move on. But at least you’ve reported it and protected yourself and somebody later on, should your condition worsen, can’t argue well it didn’t happen at work or question your right to receive workers’ compensation benefits because you didn’t report it.
