Since 2006 an Arkansas based company has been selling their cameras called “Angel Eye Camera Systems,” to hospitals. The idea behind the Angel Eye Cameras is to help monitor babies that are in the NICU (Natal Intensive Care Unit). It’s not only a type of security system, but it allows parents and other loved ones to check in on the newest family member.
The Angel Eye Camera is put in place by the nursing staff and they are in charge of making sure the camera is in the proper position. The camera is left on 24/7 so parents and loved ones can check on the baby at any time or leave the feed up if they choose. The parent(s) are given a login name and password and use that to access the camera feed. The camera feed can be accessed from phones, tablets, and computers. Parents can also watch when doctors visit the baby for care even if they aren’t in the hospital. Currently, the Angel Eye Camera System is funded by donations in the Philadelphia area.
There are several benefits to using the Angel Eye Camera System.
A system such as the Angel Eye Camera is a wonderful development that uses modern technology to decrease risk and increase the ability to keep an eye on the newest member of your family. Check and see if such a system is available at a hospital near you while you are determining the best location to give birth to your new baby.
