People Die in Their Cars on Labor Day Weekend

Every year a lot of people die in car accidents on Labor Day Weekend. The amount of people who are expected to die is increased this year over the past few years due to the fact that more people have the money to travel this year.  With more people on the road comes more auto accidents.  This year, the National Safety Council is expecting 394 deaths and 42,200 injuries which require medical attention.

NSC Estimates Deaths Every Year

The NSC hopes that by warning people about the danger on the road for Labor Day Weekend, that it will encourage people to drive more safely. It’s estimates, sadly, tend to be pretty close to correct every year.

Wear Your Seat Belt and Save Lives

The NSC estimates that the death toll prediction for Labor Day Weekend would be 543 people, but wearing seat belts will save over 140 lives.  Further, NSC believes that 99 more lives could be saved if everyone wore their seat belts.  Please keep this in mind and make certain that you and everyone in your car is always buckled up.
