You do not necessarily have to go to the doctor your employer sends you to. If the employer only sends you to one specific doctor, than you do not have to go to that doctor. If the employer provides you with a panel list of at least six different doctors, in writing, that they either hand to you when you report a work injury, or mail it to you or provide it to you when you report an injury, then they do have the right to go to those doctors on the list for the first 90 days. After the 90 days you are free to go to anybody else that you want. And also you can switch doctors on the list within the first 90 days. But unless they have that written list that they provide to you, of doctors, they cannot control your treatment even for the first 90 days, and you are free to treat with any doctor that you wish to.
