Can My Employer Drop My Health Insurance?
Our Workers’ Compensation department is lead by Jim Mogul, a certified workers’ compensation attorney*. If you have been injured at work and need assistance with workers’ compensation benefits, contact Jim today for a free case evaluation. There is no fee unless you recover compensation.
Unfortunately, your employer can drop your health insurance coverage after a certain period of time, as long as they apply that rule equally. So they can’t discriminate against injured workers as to how they treat other people that left the job. But that has nothing to do with your workers’ compensation medical benefits of course. Anything having to do with your work injury has to be paid by the workers’ compensation insurance coverage regardless, and should not be paid by your health insurance.
