You do not have to go back to work when you are told to go back to work by your employer, unless your doctor says that you can go back to work. Then you should at least go back to work and try to work. If you really do not believe that you can work, even if your doctor believes feels that you can work, then you are allowed to seek out another medical opinion.  But it is very dangerous to just remain off of work without the opinion of a doctor, especially when your own doctor is saying that you should go back to work and try to work. Under those circumstances, when your own doctor is telling you to go back to work, the best situation is either to go back and try the job, and if you can’t do it then leave work and go back on workers’ compensation.  Or else at least talk to your doctor or to another doctor and try to explain to them why you don’t feel that you can work, and get a different medical opinion.
