You can continue to receive workers’ compensation benefits as long as you are considered disabled. The employer and the insurance company have ways to stop the workers compensation benefits; such as by settling the case with you, or finding a doctor who says you are fully and completely recovered, or by proving that you have a residual wage earning capacity. And there are ways that they can cap the amount of total workers’ compensation benefits you receive or eliminate them altogether. But of course, you have the right to contest whatever they do.
